Email security

In today’s era of instant messaging and chat, email still remains a vital communication tool for businesses. However, email is also a prime target for cybercriminals who use it to launch phishing attacks and steal sensitive information. While email service providers like Gmail and Outlook offer some level of security, additional measures are necessary to ensure the safety of your emails. In this blog post, we will discuss why you need to take additional security measures for email services. Universal SECURE Cloud services are here to assist you.

SECURE Cloud services

While email service providers like Google and Microsoft offer some level of security, additional measures are necessary to ensure the safety of your emails. In this blog post we will discuss why you need to take additional security measures for email services and how Universal.cloud can help you achieve this.

DMARC, DKIM, and SPF

DMARC, DKIM and SPF are email authentication protocols that help to prevent email spoofing and phishing attacks. Email spoofing is a technique used by attackers to send emails that appear to be from a legitimate source, but in reality, they are not. Spoofed emails can be used to trick users into sharing sensitive information or downloading malware.
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication protocol that verifies the sender’s IP address against a list of authorized IP addresses for the domain. If the IP address is not authorized, the email is rejected or marked as spam. SPF records are added to the domain’s DNS records.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is another email authentication protocol that uses digital signatures to verify the authenticity of the email. The digital signature is added to the email header by the sender’s email server. The recipient’s email server verifies the signature by checking the public key in the domain’s DNS records.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) is a policy framework that builds on top of SPF and DKIM. DMARC allows domain owners to specify how their emails should be handled if they fail SPF or DKIM checks. DMARC records are added to the domain’s DNS records.

Configuration services
It is important to configure these protocols to ensure that your emails are authenticated and delivered successfully. Without proper authentication, your emails may be rejected or marked as spam by the recipient’s email server. This can negatively impact your email deliverability and reputation.
