New Teams app blends Chat and Channels

The New Teams Client: Chats and Teams Channels Blended

Microsoft Teams has recently received an update that changes the way we communicate and collaborate within the app. The new Teams client now combines chats and Teams channels into one integrated view. In this article, we discuss why this change was made and how you can revert to the old view if desired.

Why This Change?

The main reason for blending chats and Teams channels is to improve the user experience. By combining these two forms of communication, Microsoft aims to achieve the following:

  1. Efficiency: Users no longer need to switch between different tabs or sections to follow their conversations. Everything is now accessible from one streamlined interface.
  2. Consistency: Merging chats and channels provides a more uniform experience, making it easier to find and share information.
  3. Productivity: With fewer distractions and a streamlined interface, users can better focus on their work and respond to messages more quickly.

Switching settings to separate Chat and Teams

While the new integrated view offers many benefits, we understand that some users prefer the separated view. Therefore You can switch to separate Chat & Teams views.
